Aquila, Quantum, Apollo

I have been a skater with the BSISC since 2009, and in this time I have competed as both a synchronised and figure skater.

As a synchronised skater I was fortunate enough to make it to the senior level, competing at a number of international competitions. A career highlight was competing at the 2016 Synchronised Ice Skating World Championships. Alongside competition, I was able to participate in a number of national camps such as the One Team Movement camp in 2019 where I was a demonstrator for the Junior and Senior division, working under the tuition of Anu Oksanen.

As a figure skater I have won a state title in the adult gold division and the New Zealand National Championships in October 2018 before retiring from competition in early 2020.

I completed my level 1 figure and synchronised ice skating coaching courses in late 2022, and soon after took up a position coaching the BSISC advanced novice team Aquilla in 2023 working alongside Natalie, our Directer of Coaching. Aquilla achieved 3rd place at the 2023 Australian National Championships, achieving a personal best score at this competition.

In 2024 I hope to build on this result and continue to develop the team and the club. I wish to foster a community environment within the club, encouraging young skaters to achieve great things both on and off the ice for each other and themselves!

In addition to Ice Skating, I have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science whereby I have studied human biomechanics and physiology in depth and have more recently commenced a postgraduate degree in Podiatry, hoping to graduate later this year.

COACH

Advanced Adult

I have been an ice skater since I was 12 - first as a synchro skater and then as an ice dancer where my partner and I represented Australia in 1988 at the Junior Worlds, followed by various international competitions in the Junior division.

After this, I then moved to coaching and for the past 33 years I have coached ice dancers, singles and every level of the synchro divisions.

I started over in Toronto, Canada as a Level One coach and have obtained my Level 3 accreditation here in Brisbane.  My most memorial coaching experiences have been taking the then Junior synchro team, Ice Viva! to Canada for training and competitions at Niagara Falls and Winterfest in Toronto and also taking the Adult division team, Evolution over to two Masters Games events, one in Innsbruck, Austria and then 4 years later to Bormio, Italy.

I am currently coaching the Advanced Adult team.
